Fifth EAGE Workshop on High Performance Computing for Upstream
High-Performance-Computing plays a leading role in our current energy business and will be of critical importance for a successful energy transition. Looking across multiple industries, our business undoubtedly exploits the largest High-Performance-Computing capacity. HPC helps in seeking higher productivity, lowering costs and making better use of huge amounts of data through high-performance simulation and data analytics. Algorithms performing as fast as possible on the best available hardware have a direct impact on many of the decisions shaping our business. This is particularly true in this post COVID world. Achieving this goal, through the various forms of HPC, from Supercomputers on premise to elastic and versatile solutions on the cloud, is the underlying theme of this fifth instance of the EAGE HPC for Upstream: “Heterogeneous HPC: Challenges, Current and Future Trends”.

SEG EVOLVE PROGRAM: PERUGIA UNIVERSITY TO JOIN THE CHALLENGE AGAIN!
EVOLVE (https://seg.org/EVOLVE) is a Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG, https://seg.org/) 6-months program, aiming to find the best investment opportunity on the Cooper Basin (Queensland, Australia), selected as a UNIPG study site for this 2021 edition (January-June). This academic program offers to students the possibility to work on Geophysical and Geological (G&G) data with a multidisciplinary approach and using Energy Industry software specifically developed for exploration and production purposes. The program is developed under the close supervision of EVOLVE-SEG mentors and University professors. It is the third consecutive year that a team of students of the Dipartimento di Fisica e Geologia – Università degli Studi di Perugia – is selected in Italy.

The Organizing Committee BE GEO SCIENTISTS is pleased to invite you to the 1st National Congress of Italy for Young Geoscientists – Be Geo Scientists 2021 (BeGEO 2021), which will be held at the University of Naples Federico II from 7 to 10 October 2021.
BeGEO 2021 is the first Italian network for young geoscientists and it represents a great opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D. students, pre- or post-doctoral researchers, employed and unemployed, in the Earth Sciences framework, to share their recent findings with other colleagues in an interdisciplinary environment.
