FIELD CAMP OUTLINE: the camp will be held in the Oasi WWF Cratere degli Astroni , a crater of the Campi Flegrei. It represents a unique spot for a field camp and a premier target for high-resolution geophysical investigation.
The aim of the field camp is therefore double: training activities on geophysical data acquisitions; detection of geological features of the site through different geophysical measurements.
Experienced professors and skilled researchers will open the camp through lectures in order to introduce geological, and geophysical information about the investigating target; later, they will lead participants during a field trip to provide an exhaustive overview of the area.
Resistivity and SP surveys, gravity survey, and magnetic and UAV magnetic survey will be provided. Detecting and imaging of the main geological structures in the area could provide key information to improve the understanding of the physical mechanisms underlying the degassing site and its connections with volcanic features.
The surveys will be performed with top ranked instruments by Professors and Researchers of DiSTAR and a Team from INGV-OV.
The last days will be dedicated to data processing and interpretation of the collected data.
As we are in very unique area, we can offer more and/or different geophysical surveys or other types of monitoring technique based on the availability of entities carrying out monitoring and emergency on the territory.
Please note: any changes will be communicated to the participants.
